The fortress - barracks until the 20th century

The 950-year history of Hohensalzburg Fortress is often reduced to the Middle Ages, ignoring the fact that it was always used for military purposes until it was used for tourism in the 20th century. This special tour focuses primarily on the period after the Napoleonic Wars, when Salzburg became part of Austria in a roundabout way and the fortress was used as a barracks and base for the Rainer Regiment.
