How to get to the landmark in the city of Salzburg

Getting to Fortress Hohensalzburg, which is located in the center of the city of Salzburg on the Mönchsberg, is quick and easy by train and with the city trolleybus . It is not possible to drive up to Fortress Hohensalzburg by car, as the entire old town of Salzburg is a pedestrian zone.

The footpath to the fortress starts right next to the FestungsBahn and takes about 30 minutes. Please note that this path is not barrier-free and not suitable for baby carriages due to its steepness and nature - steps in places.
